Yagody

"There's a song for every moment in a person's life," says Zoryana Dybovska, founder of Yagody. The band was created 2016 in Lviv, western Ukraine, by four students of the drama faculty. Together, the group set off on a journey through Ukraine to trace the musical heritage of the people who live there. Yagody combine the collected folk songs with other musical styles to create their own exciting and unmistakable sound. That way, the band preserves the old melodies, while at the same time keeping them fresh for a modern audience. At this year’s Ruhrfestspiele, Yagody's powerful voices will resound in the Christuskirche – a truly special venue for a special band.
