Mass Effect

Choreography: Andreas Constantinou

Himherandit Productions
German premiere

The performers walk, jump, run. They create spatial patterns and complex running formations that push the limits of their physical endurance. The individual active body interacts with the collective. They interrupt their flow only briefly, catch their breath, take a sip, then continue. They measure out the space, change direction abruptly and yet never get in each other's way. They sweat, get out of breath. They reach their physical limits. And yet the community carries them on - beyond exhaustion. This is how they overcome low points and mobilize their last reserves. They continue to defy their limits. We watch them turning fatigue into a new high, moving through effort, lightness, and finally euphoria.

The Danish production "Mass Effect" is an award-winning, athletic form of dance theater. The high-intensity performance with a cast of 7 international performers and 20 community members is movement in its purest form. Impulses of energy and passion fill the space to create a borderline experience in the best sense of the word. The stage and the auditorium are flooded with joy and liveliness. As spectators, we get to marvel at this pure feat of strength. The British newspaper The Guardian listed this production as one of the best performances of 2023.
