The Storyville Mosquito
Puppet theater by Kid Koala
"The Storyville Mosquito" is a unique fusion of music, puppet theater, and live film production. In his magical stage show, Canadian DJ and theater maker Kid Koala tells the heart-warming story of a young clarinet-playing mosquito who leaves its small village to find fame and fortune in the big city. Its goal: to play in one of the greatest jazz bands of all time at Sid Villa's Music Hall.
What is presented on stage is a virtuoso performance and a spectacle for the senses. In real time, 15 people with 75 puppets and eight moving cameras create a Hollywood-worthy animated film, right in front of the audience. The soundtrack is provided by a live string trio and multi-instrumentalist Kid Koala on the turntables, the clarinet, and a variety of other instruments.
