Please contact the ticket office to reserve wheelchair spaces and companion tickets as well as for further information on the accessibility of our venues and service areas. Ruhrfestspiele endeavour to make access as barrier-free as possible.

RUHRFESTSPIELHAUS

Barrier-free parking spaces are available in the customer car park of Ruhrfestspielhaus.

Unfortunately, the cloakroom in the Ruhrfestspielhaus is not barrier-free. We ask for your understanding. The front of house staff will be happy to assist you.

The Großes Haus and Kleines Haus venues are equipped with hearing assistance. MobileConnect is a WiFi-based system for barrier-free hearing that transmits the stage sound live and in excellent quality via WiFi directly to your personal smartphone. Users can customise the audio signal in the app to suit their individual hearing needs and pair it with headphones, hearing aids and cochlear implants.

  1. Install the free MobileConnect app on your smartphone.
  2. In the event room you can connect your smartphone to our "MobileConnect" WiFi.
  3. Start the MobileConnect app and select the channel "Großes Haus" or "Kleines Haus", depending on which venue you are in.
    Set the desired volume and adjust the sound to your individual listening requirements in the app.

Wheelchair spaces are available in the venues of Ruhrfestspielhaus, Festspielzelt and Theater Marl. We kindly ask you to reserve wheelchair spaces and accompanying tickets on time via the ticket office. Barrier-free parking spaces are available at Ruhrfestspielhaus and Theater Marl.

Großes Haus

The wheelchair spaces are located in the circle section and can be reached via a lift. There are barrier-free WCs in the foyer of the Ruhrfestspielhaus and on the circle section.

All other seats are accessible via a lift, but access to the auditorium is via a few steps. Walking aids can be parked in the entrances if necessary. Our front-of-house staff will be happy to assist you.

Kleines Haus

The Kleines Haus venue is located on the first floor of the Ruhrfestspielhaus and can be reached via lift. A platform is installed in the auditorium, via which the individual seats can be reached. The stairs lead up to the auditorium and the centre aisle is not equipped with a handrail. Wheelchair spaces are located in the first row. Level access can only be provided here. Barrier-free WCs are located in the foyer on the ground floor and on the second floor of the Ruhrfestspielhaus.

Box im Ruhrfestspielhaus

The Box venue is located on the second floor of the Ruhrfestspielhaus, which can be reached by lift. Access and seating are at ground level. Barrier-free WCs are located in the immediate vicinity.

FESTSPIELZELT

The venue is equipped with a grandstand that can only be accessed from the side with a handrail. Unfortunately, ground-level access can only be provided in the front row. A barrier-free toilet is located at the venue. It is possible to bring people with restricted mobility to the access road to the theatre tent in their own car. Barrier-free car parking spaces are then available in the customer car park.

THEATER MARL

There are three public barrier-free parking spaces on the street "Am Theater" in the immediate vicinity of the theatre. The wheelchair spaces in Marl Theatre are located in the stalls, row 10, and are fully accessible. Rows 1-11 are accessible at ground level from the foyer, but there are a few steps to the seats in the auditorium. There is a barrier-free WC in the foyer (stalls on the left). A lift is also available.

SPARKASSE VEST

The Sparkasse Vest premises are accessible at ground level. There are designated barrier-free parking spaces and a lift in the "P1 In der Krim" multi-storey car park. The venue has barrier-free WCs. Seats for wheelchair users can also be allocated.

HALLE KÖNIG LUDWIG 1/2

The Halle König Ludwig 1/2 venue is currently not yet barrier-free. Appropriate measures are currently being implemented to ensure barrier-free accessibility in the future. Information on the current status will be published here.
