Penny Hes Yassour · Temp EST
Kunstausstellung der Ruhrfestspiele in der Kunsthalle Recklinghausen
Exhibition at Kunsthalle Recklinghausen
Penny Hes Yassour is a multidisciplinary Israeli artist who investigates the subject of mental maps. For this exhibition, Hes Yassour creates narrative spaces that challenge our perception of time and space. Within these – almost theatrical – spaces, Hes Yassour tells stories and keeps history alive.
Penny Hes Yassour exhibits extensively in Israel and abroad. She participated in the 10th
Documenta in Kassel, 1997, with her work Mental Maps – Involuntary Memory, for which she was awarded the Arnold Bode Prize. After that, she exhibited her multidisciplinary project Echolalia at the Friedriezianum Museum in Kassel (2000). In 2009, she was invited to Freiburg Theatre to create an art installation for a performance of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest.”
