Hauschka & Angermann
Two improvisation artists in their element
For the composer and pianist Hauschka, the essence of his art lies in challenging himself with experimentation. His work centers on the grand piano, which Hauschka constantly explores and expands as an acoustic body. His colleague Kai Angermann is no less creative. In addition to percussion and vibraphone, his instruments include electronics and everyday objects. Angermann's interests include projects that combine music with other art forms. His unique connection of percussion and electronic alienation offers a variety of creative possibilities. The two artists, who live in Düsseldorf, have been working together for many years. Apart from their penchant for experimentation, they also share a passion for musical improvisation. The unexpected and the incalculable provide a creative challenge for these two masters of their craft. After his first appearance at the Ruhrfestspiele 2019, we are delighted to welcome Hauschka once more. This time, he shares the big stage of the Ruhrfestspielhaus with Kai Angermann to captivate audiences with the boundless possibilities of musical experimentation.
