Ausklang auf dem Grünen Hügel

A day to close the Ruhrfestspiele

The end of a Ruhrfestspiel season is always a special event. In recent years, however, a festive conclusion was unfortunately not possible due to the corona pandemic. But this year we want to celebrate the finale of the festival season with you again on the Grüner Hügel. That's why we will be bringing the festival and the season to a close with a fine programme around the Ruhrfestspielhaus all day long, starting at 10:00 am.

We begin the "Krabbelkonzert Natur" for ours youngest visitors on the meadow behind the Festspielhaus. At the same time, "RadiOh Europa" invites you to a special radio programme: You can listen to love songs from all over Europe - and also those that were recorded in Recklinghausen in the previous days. The Dutch group Superhallo presents "Knol D'Amour", a small, performative homage to the potato. With "Im Bachzustand", cellist Katja Zakotnik presents the sonatas of the great composer in a special ambience. With "BARK" Acting for Climate brings a New Circus show about climate change to the Stadtgarten. And the acrobatic trio Knot on Hands shows the daring quite casually with "Passing by".

Guru Dudu invites you to the popular "Silent Disco Walking Tour". And of course we also show theatre in the Festspielhaus. After the performances of "Macbeth" in the Großes Haus and "Und sicher ist mit mir die Welt verschwunden" in the Kleines Haus, you can dance with "WiDance" on the forecourt and the brass band Atemgold 09 will play. Finally, for the finale of the last day of the festival, Grotest Maru, the specialists for theatre in public places, will present an acrobatic show on the outside façade of the Ruhrfestspielhaus. This is how the Ruhrfestspiele 2023 will end: with twelve hours of fine art. Together with you!
