Wild

Motionhouse, Great Britain

"Wild" is a daring circus dance production: six performers explore humanity’s alienation from nature. With dynamic physicality, hand-to-hand acrobatics, and impressive dance elements, the artists move through a forest of tall poles. They wind through them, up and down, and interact with each other at dizzying heights. The view from above opens up completely new perspectives, both on the original and on the urban jungle. Whether in the metropolitan maze of skyscrapers or in the undergrowth of the rainforest - adventurous encounters await everywhere. "Wild" is a rousing balancing act for spectators of all ages.

Founded in 1988, Motionhouse is one of Britain’s pioneers of mixing New Circus and dance. Artistic Director Kevin Finnan choreographed, among other things, the opening ceremony for the London 2012 Paralympics.

WILD is commissioned by Gulbenkian & ART31 and Birmingham Hippodrome (as part of the Hippodrome Associate Artist programme). Supported by Without Walls with commissioning from Freedom Festival, Hat Fair, and Out There International Festival of Circus & Street Arts. With additional backing from the Garfield Weston Foundation, the Foyle Foundation, The 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust, The Saintbury Trust and The City of London Corporation.
