GAIA - Sane again?
Physical Monkey, Germany
Co-production
The world is stumbling from one crisis to the next. So how do we hold on to any hope for the future? Sometimes, inspiration slumbers in unexpected places: performer Sabeth Dannenberg takes us into the mysterious world of underground mushroom networks. In the "Laboratory for Utopian Imagination," the Gaia hypothesis is presented: our planet is a living being in its own right. Through vertical choreographies on a Chinese Mast, in a poetic stage setting of illuminated paper artworks, artist and audience members embark on a search for the answer to the question: "Can we make our planet sane again?"
Sabeth Dannenberg studied Physical Theatre at the Folkwang University of the Arts. The co-production with her label "Physical Monkey" resulted from a collaboration with the "Bündnis Neuer Zirkus Ruhr."
