The “Folkwang Showcase” not only offers a look behind the scenes of a renowned university. It also is a unique and diverse theatrical event that draws on the various disciplines of the performing arts - opera, musical, dance, acting, and physical theater - and other branches of musical education. For this purpose, a joint jury of Folkwang University and Ruhrfestspiele compiles a program of the best pieces that were developed at the university that year. Impressive young artists get to demonstrate their talent and follow in the footsteps of the many nationally and internationally renowned Folkwang graduates. In 2022, Ruhrfestspiele invite you once more to marvel as we transform the stage of Theater Marl into a colorful and exciting showcase for the region’s up-and-coming artists.
