Gaia is the mythological Mother Earth, the female principle connecting everything that exists. Gaia creates, destroys, gives birth, and multiplies. In “Project Gaia,” the Bochum-based artist collective kainkollektiv explores issues of motherhood and artistic identity.

Based on their “bitch mother manifesto,” ten women from Canada, Cameroon, Iran, Croatia, and Germany set out to find a space for the deliberation of nature, nurture, art, and the universe. This multimedia theatrical event asks important questions about the future of our planet: Who will we be/have been tomorrow?

Tip: kainkollektiv‘s Sara Bidgeli Shamloo and her partner Nima Aghiani perform together as the Iranian electronic/abstract/experimental duo „9T Antiope“. On 6 June, they play a set to start off the party in Ruhrfestspielhaus’s Kohlefoyer.
