Frühjahrskonzert des Städtischen Chors Recklinghausen mit der Neuen Philharmonie Westfalen
„Exsultate, jubilate“ – Geistliche Musik von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Mozart composed his “Te Deum C major KV 141” prior to his first trip to Italy in 1769. Though among Mozart’s smaller masses, it is a sonically overwhelming song of praise. In 1773, during his final travels in Italy, he composed “Exsultate Jubilate Motette KV 165” as a hymn in honor of the Virgin Mary. The centrepiece of this year’s concert is Mozart’s beloved “Missa Breva,” the so-called Coronation Mass of 1779.
