Over the last 15 years, France has become the cradle of fascinating music and dance movements that play with influences of the European and African continent. Young musical genres like Afro-Trap captivate through complex beats, intricate dance moves, strong lyrics and unique dress codes. Songs focus on life in the banlieues and become anthems for a new generation, torn between France and its former colonies.
German performer and director Monika Gintersdorfer got together with dancer and choreographer Gadoukou la Star to work with a group of these young, talented dancers and musicians from Paris. Come and witness a phenomenon of Euro-African pop culture.
